Logistics Specialist I

Job Description: Performs all aspects of administrative and technical supply coordination and work (e.g., Hand Receipts. scheduling, inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization) related to local Property Book Office or other installation supply activities. Candidate will be responsible for GFE property tracking, inventory and coordination within the IS System. Assignments usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical supply coordination operations; or to functions or subjects that are broad in scope or limited in difficulty. The work generally involves individual case problems or supply actions. This work may require consideration of program requirements, together with specific variations in or from standardized guidelines. Assignments require (a) a good working knowledge of the Government supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines; (b) an understanding of the needs of the organization serviced; and (c) analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data, to establish the facts, and to take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines. Must have a working knowledge of MAXIMO, FAR, Army Regulation 735-5, and DA PAM 710-2 and perform property induction of assets and material. Analyzes and reconciles data support with Administrative adjustments to Property Book system. Investigates inconsistencies makes required entries for corrections. Candidate must be knowledgeable and capable of managing property from a life cycle perspective and within the FAR requirements. Responsible for the accuracy of Property records and data in the MAXIMO Item Master Files and Asset Records. Responsible for coordinating transportation with UPS, FEDEX, DOL May be required to Track shipments, Ensure Inventory schedules are planned, coordinated and execute on a monthly bases. Determines and communicates impacts to affected individuals/activities and initiates and takes corrective actions. Prepares reports and summaries, and replies to inquiries. Draws attention to important items and actual or potential problems and assists in developing solutions. Capable of providing Transportation Management System Training to new employees. Duties as assigned. Required Skills: 1 year experience in logistics/supply is required. Must have working knowledge of MAXIMO and Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, Power Point, MS Word and LOTUS Notes); familiar with military supply system. Must have an active U.S. DoD SECRET Security Clearance. Willing to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime due to mission support requirements. Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs and wear appropriate personal protective equipment as appropriate. Perform duties in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, wind) and at height (towers and phone poles). Required to work in compliance with OSHA and Raytheon safety policies and procedures as appropriate. Desired Skills: Proficient on the FAR Property Clauses Required Education (including Major): BA in Logistics or Administration OR 8 years of related work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
